I didn't move to Vegas for snow...

So on Monday, in my normally sunny city of Las Vegas, some crappy white stuff started falling from the sky...sigh - I didn't move here for this! Not only do I not like it, neither does my prissy dog! Trying to get Charlee even out from under the patio is chore enough, but then to get her to "go" outside while there is precipitation? Nearly impossible. So I wasted more than half my lunch standing outside in the falling slush trying to convince my dog that it's great and she should try it! All the while with a look on her face like "Sure mom, your wet and freezing - looks like a party - I'm not movin'!" So finally after following me around the yard and doing nothing but shivering, I caught her looking pretty cute - with snow on her face - Can't wait to see what actually happens when she sees Idaho snow - Look out mom - we may have to teach her how to use the toilet!

Late-night Twilight

Ok, so I know this is like 3 weeks past due, but I've been without a computer so now I have to get caught up. So my friend Cherie and I went to the midnight showing of Twilight on November 20 - wow...that was almost a month ago - Anyway, we had a great time and were surrounded by a bunch of teeny-bopper SCREAMING girls, who I frequently told to "Shut It!". Other than that we thought the movie was great and had a great time away from our "boys". We took some pictures and blinded all the girls around us, so I just had to share.

Not until I took this picture did I realize what similar color Cherie's eyes are to the vampires...hmm

~Thanks Cherie for the good time!~

Le Reve

So, last night...and last minute...we were taken out to dinner and a show - Le Reve at the Wynn Hotel (Christmas Party/Present) by my bosses at the mini-storage. This was suppose to be a surprise for me and Kevin, but my boss Lori spilled the beans - it actually turned out to be a very good thing that she did because last night was going to be their last show for 2 weeks! Kevin's cousin Julie just got married on Saturday and her new husband actually performes in the show. So after the AMAZING show, we stayed after and talked to him and he told us all the behind the scenes stuff and things you always want to know about in a show like that. It was so much fun and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to go and have that experience! The basis of the show is a woman dreaming (Le Reve means The Dream in french) and she has many unfinished dreams, some scary, some funny and some "seductive" as Kevin would say. It was a water show and the water added such a huge element to the show and made it that much more exciting. You are not allowed to take pictures during the show so I got some off of the internet so that you could see some of the acts - the pictures don't do it justice! Enjoy, I know we did!

My Dogs

Thought I would post some pictures of why I work at an animal hospital - basically I would be broke if I didn't! Here are some pictures of my dog's "troubles"...

This is the top of Mansin's head - he had a cyst there that I had removed while he was boarding over the weekend - he now has 2 stitches.

This is Charlee's front "ankle" - she will lick her leg raw (this actually doesn't even look bad) so I have to apply tea tree oil every night because that is the only thing that she will not lick off.

Our first NFL game

So for Kevin's birthday - as many of you know - I bought him tickets to an NFL game in Arizona. Kev is a San Francisco 49ers fan but there was no way we were going to drive all the way to San Fran! So I started looking at the closest (and warmest) places, and that was Arizona - Well, as I was looking thru the schedule, it turns out that AZ was playing the 49ers in Arizona! I jumped on those tickets right away! I bought the cheapest tickets -which were nosebleed, but I was still really excited! So the game was last Monday and we took off late Saturday afternoon...after my all nighter with the puzzle...and spent a long relaxing weekend in Scottsdale Arizona. Monday afternoon we drove to Glendale (outside of Phoenix) where the stadium was. The place was HUGE! There are no words to explain and pictures don't do it justice, but here are some anyway...

Jordin Sparks sang the National Anthem which was awesome and then the opening kick-off the 49ers ran the ball back for a touchdown! We were so excited! What a way to start the game! We were lucky enough to have some 49ers fans around us so we didn't feel so alone when we wanted to cheer for them! It was a really great close game and a great "first timers" game (even though the 49ers ended up loosing!) and if you saw the game you know what I'm talkin' about! This is something we totally will do again! Here are some more random pics...

We drove back to Vegas on Tuesday and took a more "scenic" route. We drove thru Sedona and Flagstaff AZ. (Who knew places in AZ got snow? Not me!) Sedona was beautiful and we took our time drivin' thru and took lots of pictures - here are some of our fav's...

Insomnia

Tonight, or I should say, this morning, I am unable to sleep - again. So it has been this whole week. Not sure what is going on with me but it is rather frustrating. Anyone who knows me, knows I must get my sleep or I get very cranky. Anyway, so rather than laying in bed staring at the ceiling, I have decided to do something productive. Ever since I was a child I have been into puzzles. My dad "created" that in me I guess you could say. So, I dug a puzzle out of my closet and set to work. It is now 1:30 am and here is where I am.

After getting the border done and everything roughly seperated, I felt like there was something I was missing. And maybe it's lack of sleep, but when I realized what it was I broke down and cried really, really hard. I realized what I was missing was my "puzzle partner" - My Dad. I have never before been doing a late night puzzle by myself. Dad always had trouble sleeping as well and was only too happy to help me work on a puzzle. So, I just wanted to put my sadness of still missing him after all these years into words and say - Thanks dad for sharing and teaching me to enjoy this hobby thats getting me thru this very long night.

Halloween Wedding!

So last night we went to a wedding/Halloween party for Kevin's friend/co-worker, Sean. Everything was so beautiful with lots of fall colors.

When the new couple came out for the first dance everyone had bubbles and stood around them on the dance floor and "showered" them with bubbles...

After the wedding and the dinner everyone was asked to change into their costumes. I was pretty excited because I have been STRESSING over my costume because I had to make half of it! (Thanks Mom for being a good sport and trying to talk me thru it on the phone when all I wanted to do was fly you to Vegas to help me!!!) So I went as Princess Leia and Kevin was a Redneck...not much of a strech for him he said...haha. So we got ready and went back to the reception. Everyone loved our costumes and DIED when they saw Kevin - here's our before and after pics.

Kevin's costume was my idea and I regretted it...He got SO into character and would not get out! It got a little creepy after awhile...Here are some of our "poses"...

The bride and groom also got into costumes and it was the highlight of the night! We had a blast and it felt more like a Halloween party than a wedding! Here are some of our favorite pics of the bride and groom and some of the more "interesting" costumes of the guests!
