Our Last Ultrasound

So we went in for our last "official" ultrasound on December 4th. We didn't really get any great pictures, but the day will be one I (or mom and Kevin for that matter) will never forget...sigh. So when you first go in the technician is the first one to do all the looking, measuring, etc. She was very nice, asked us if we knew what we were having - I said yes but she was welcome to check again...just to make sure...I've heard of stranger things happening. Anyway, so she goes on with her measurements, says he weighs about 4 1/2 pounds (which freaked me out...sounded like a lot!) And then said that "Wow, his head is measuring a bit bigger than the rest of him!"...Thanks Kevin...She then goes searching for his...um...gender, and says, "well he is trying to be shy but it is definitely a boy." Excellent! Now I don't have to return a bunch of boy clothes! She then says the doctor should be in within a few minutes. So we wait a few minutes and the doctor comes in - not the one I am used to seeing...some very excited Asian man who loudly proclaims while walking thru the door that his technician has warned him to look out for my son's "giant penis!" Wow, thanks doc...not what I, or surely my mother, expected to hear! But wait...it only gets better! He continues on with the ultrasound saying everything looks great, normal, then goes right for the money shot...just in case we didn't see it last time. He THEN points out...and I totally apologize to anyone this might offend, but this IS what he said..."here is the penis, and here is the nut sack" Um, wow, really? Who would have thought that a doctor would use those exact words...not me. He then goes on to say that this "Is Vegas, and he is just getting prepared for his job in show biz!" Wow, thanks alot for giving a first time mother MORE to worry about. He then prints us out this picture and says we have to put it in his baby book - HAHAHA...sure.

We will be more likely to put this one in, even though you are basically looking up his nose...but it's way cuter and you can see his cute lips.

So needless to say, we ended on a very interesting note as far as ultrasounds go. Oh well...it's a story...probably not one I will be telling my son, but hopefully it gave you all a chuckle. I will be posting again soon with pictures from our Idaho and Vegas baby showers.

Our Little Boy

So we found out today we are having a little boy. Very surprised, but very excited! We are half way done now and looking forward to meeting the (still name-less) little dude.

Our Trip To The Manti Temple

On August 22nd we went to Manti Utah and went thru the temple to be sealed. It was such a great experience and we were surrounded by lots of friends and family. Here are a few pics from our trip.

New Baby Coles Video

So it's been 2 weeks since my last "at work" ultrasound and I have been very anxious to see how much the baby has grown. I don't know how normal women without weekly access to an ultrasound machine do it...don't you only normally get 3-4 ultrasounds your entire pregnancy? In any case, I find myself extremely lucky. So I am totally surprised at how much bigger the baby is, then after several minutes, I am totally SHOCKED at how much it is moving! I think I'm growing a gymnast! So here is the best out of 4 video's that I took, also, don't be shocked by all the background voices...everyone in my office was crowded into that little room. The high pitched voice you hear in the background is actually the Vet, and she is speaking for the baby. HAHA - I work with characters...Enjoy!

Death of a Pigeon (not for the weak stomach)

Ok, so I don't love pigeons, but was very upset when I walked outside to find my dog chowing down on one. If you don't like blood and guts, I would skip this post.

And Baby Makes 3...Finally

So, for those of you who were not aware, we are having a baby! I am due around the 27th of January. We are very very excited and can't wait to add a human baby to our crew of 4 legged ones. My doctor couldn't do a print out of our ultrasound, so Saturday when I was working at the animal hospital, one of the technicians used our ultrasound machine so I could take some pictures and a video. The pictures didn't turn out well, so I will just post the video. It's of course to early to see anything but a "blob" but we are still excited.

Be Nice...

This is the phrase I have been saying to my dogs everytime they are around the kitten.

I have updated pictures and a pretty good video, so I thought I would share.

Tis The Season...for kittens

So as the spring season comes around, so do baby kittens to our animal hospital. People bring one, sometimes, several in at a time and say they found them anywhere from their ceiling to their trash can. Most times I think people should leave them so that their mom, who is probably off relocating the other siblings, can come back and pick these ones up. Kittens are always better off with their mom...but then again, being the person that I am, if I saw a cute baby boy kitten on the sidewalk I would bring him in too. THIS is what happened to my latest 4 legged house guest. He (who has been named Monkey) was found by a little boy outside of his house on the sidewalk. He is alot older than the kittens we usually get - we figure he is about 3-4 weeks old. I volunteered to "foster" him...haha. Usually after taking turns fostering other cats in the past I have been all to happy to see them go to good homes. Monkey, however, is kind of growing on me...quickly. He stares right into my eyes and looks at me like I'm his mom...I guess I do feed him, so...maybe I just need a real baby!?!?! Our house is turning into a ZOO! Anyway, I adore him, so we will see what happens. I promised my family I would post pictures so enjoy.

This is our first day with him (Saturday)

These are from yesterday

He fell asleep in my lap after his bottle

I took this video of him walking (running) around ... if you look closely in the background you can almost see my dogs drooling...

Death of a Pink Dog

So Charlee's pink dog that she got for her birthday in September is now...dead...Here is how you sufficiently kill a stuffed dog according to Charlee.

First - shake it around a few times until the "guts" start to come out.

Second - Start pulling on the head/neck area until almost detached.

Third - pull out more guts for good measure.

Fourth - bite its butt and bend it in half to break is back.

Finally - roll around in the guts and make sure it is completely dead - when it is, smile at your mom in triumph.
